Little Plastic Clouds...and Huge Vinyl Martini Glasses!

This afternoon I went home early from work and met up with my friend Christine and her adorable almost 5 year old daughter Hazel! We went to the Firehouse Gallery on Church Street to see this exhibit, whose name I cannot pronounce! It was chain link fencing bent to be dome shaped, and a ton of 12 oz. plastic cups shoved through each hole. Each cup had a long string attached to the bottom that was tied around a small stone to mimic rain. It was soooooooooooo cool to walk through!!! I want one for my living room! Haha the cats would be in total heaven...

Christine and Hazel played some Hide and Seek in the Huge Martini Glass room! These were made of vinyl and the whole room smelled like an air mattress to me!

I tried to go to that exhibit with Evalina, but somehow "Don't touch" in 4-year old speak must mean "see if you can destroy this piece of art." Didn't stay long.... lol.

Haha Hazel did pretty good there, she got a few of the strings twisted up but nothing was pulled down. I don't think I would have brought my kids there either...too tempting for sure to their destructive side!!! I loved the feel of the exhibit though!

I thought it was beautiful, but somehow that quality was destroyed a bit by screaming "No, Evalina, no!!" and chasing her at breakneck speed through the place as she interrupted a yoga class or something that was happening in the martini glasses... while hefting Philip under my arm!

Ah, isn't it great being a mom??

:D
