Meet the Parents

Sorry I haven't been able to blog much, but the kids destroyed part of my keyboard :( and I have no enter, right shift, or up and down arrows. I can still kind of use them but its dampened my enthusiasm as far as typing anything lengthy. But today I had a good story type thing to tell so I figured I would take it for the team.

On Thursday morning (or was it Wednesday) James discovered that I had still been writing in The Suicide Journals which is a blog that is mainly made up of the journal that I had kept after Kam died and transcribed onto a blog as a therapy exercise. Worked wonders by the way. I had posted something not too long ago that was myself reflecting on how Kam had effected all of the relationships I have had since his death. There was a bit about James in there (no names named) that he recognized and had a little shit fit about. I did not see the big deal but he of course is all overly sensitive with anything concerning me and him. Whatever.

James is now gone on his hiking trip and I hopefully won't see him for about 10 days. That will be heaven I think. He called me this morning to say goodbye, and of course to give me some shit about not calling him last night (didn't know I was supposed to....actually never crossed my mind lol) and he would "try to have fun" and "try to enjoy himself" yadda yadda yadda. Yes, I did try to cut him off like everyone tells me to but I just can't. Its like an addiction or something. Him leaving is hopefully going to be like a 10 day rehab for me LOL!!!

On better subjects, Friday night Kris came over and met my parents. Wow. He did soooo good!! We went to TGIF's for dinner (kids included) and he helped me with the kids and was very talkative with my parents, mostly my dad. I could tell Dad was happy to have a man of science around that would understand what he was talking about and could tell stories to about UVM, chemistry, equipment, etc. Then we went back to my parents house for fruit salad and er....conversation! My Dad asked him all sorts of retarded questions like "So do they eat a lot of meat over there in Holland?" and "Do they really wear wooden shoes? What's the story with that?" Oh boy I wanted to die after all the stereotypes were brought up but Kris yielded them like a pro. He even knew a lot about dutch history and I think that impressed my dad. The evening ended with my dad saying "Very good to meet you Kris, and don't ever hesitate to come by!" YES!!!! He looked so handsome too...he wore his sexy jeans and button up shirt and YUM he looked good! And he wears the necklace I gave him everyday. Did I mention I made 2 identical necklaces with those ammonite halves I had? I just drilled holes in the tops and put a jump ring through them and strung them on a dark brown leather cord. Very simple. He has one half, I have the other :) I will have to get a picture sometime.

After my parents' house he went home for a bit and then came over to my house to spend the night. We made a blueberry pie together and it came out really good! We had it for breakfast! The kids really like him too. This morning Alicia said, "I love you" and I said "I love you too" and she said, "I wasn't talking to you mommy!" She was talking to Kris LOL!! But she also said she liked James because he poops, so I don't know if that's reliable hahaha!!!

All in all I think things are going to go my way eventually. I know for a fact that James has dinner plans with another girl for when he gets back from his hike, and that helps me to see that he is at this point playing both of us really. The girl has no idea about me as far as I know, or about how desperate he has been to get me back. I feel bad for her, but she is 33 and she is a big girl who can handle her self I am sure. I'm not going to lose sleep over it HAHA!!

Glad that Kris enjoyed meeting your parents. :D

Hope that the James wound has a chance to scab over and heal while he is gone.

When my friend, Anna, was living here for a semester and went to high school, the guidance counselor signed her up for a Video Lit class (it was a fun class) and said "Do you have videos in Sweden?" REALLY?

Love that pic of you, by the way, quite lovely.

My Dad ALWAYS asks questions like that to people from different countries! I give him credit for trying but his presentation gets an F!!! :)
