Weekend Warrior

Wow did I have a busy weekend!
Friday the 13th was just awful. I am not normally supersticious, but it was a hell of a coincedence that it turned out to be a shitty day. And the mayhem started at 3:00am so I was also tired! I had to go to the bank that morning as well to talk about what will happen with my house when the payments get too high. Refinancing is now an option, but its so scary to think of my mortgage going up another 100 or more dollars! Also she said I should find out about the prebate or something like that because I may be stupid to escrow my taxes into my mortgage if I end up having to get a refund at the end of the year.
Friday night Bobbie, her three sisters, and I went to "Evan Almighty". It was pretty funny, definitely a good movie to bring your kids to. There wasn't a lot of grown up humor or sexual situations (zero of those I think) and bad language was also at a minimum even though it had Wanda Sykes as a character. It had a really good message too. Now I want to see "Bruce Almighty" again!
Saturday morning I "slept in" until 9:00ish. It is hard because lately Alicia is very demanding that I get out of bed and get her breakfast and she is relentless in badgering me. I tell her to give me a few moments to come to and get dressed and be able to see and she melts down. Alex is at the age where he can get himself a small breakfast (cereal, yogurt) and he will usually get her a go-gurt for me. That is really helpful. But then they fight like cats and dogs over the computer, the TV, and whatever else. I made the mistake of allowing them each to use the computer for PBSKids.com or Noggin.com, Doodlebops, etc. and now every single time I turn on the computer I get bombarded.
Saturday afternoon we came down to Burlington and visited the Echo Center. They had a cool dinosaur exhibit. We met up with Astrid, her sister, and her Mom and all their kids. Its nice to have my kids playing with kids who actually have parents.
Saturday night we had the Milton Firework Display finally. I had a couple of Smirnoff Ice Raspberrys with my neighbor and got a little tipsy. Alicia slept through the fireworks and Alex was in his element because they had Monkey Ladder Golf (or Polish Horseshoes as you may know them as) and there were a lot of little kids running around out there too! I am about ready to call CPS on the kids out back. Every day I hear more amazing instances of neglect concerning them.
Sunday Jamie came over and we went to Country Pantry for brunch. Then at 3:30 my parents came and took the kids to Ratatouille so I had the rest of the afternoon off. I tried to mow the damn lawn but the m-f'ing lawn mower wouldn't start. That thing is the bane of my existence. I had the perfect opportunity to mow with no kids and early enough so that I would have daylight since it takes 2 hours to do the whole thing. But noooooooo it had to be retarded. Someday I will own a nice lawnmower!!!
And now I am here at work, yippee skippee. I can't wait until lunch break!!!

It was so much fun seeing you this weekend again! I'm sorry your kids were scared of the dinos... Torsten was so in love with them he wouldn't leave!!

Let's make plans soon for fossil hunting. :D

And my dad said he would be happy to show Alex his bugs, if we plan ahead!

WOOOOOOOW, whew, busy busy weekend indeed : ) But it sounds like it was lots of fun (besides Friday, perhaps), and good quality family time for the most part. Nice : )

Sorry to hear you couldn't get your lawn mowed : ( I pray you get to soon enough...

I also pray your day/week is going well!

Thanks :) My Dad is going up to fix the mower hopefully today. I just wanted to get it done a)before the neighbors came home from their vacation and b)before 9:00pm tonight! Even if he fixes it I have to wait until I have the right circumstances (such as time) to do it.
